Ecological window cleaning!

Currently, we dedicate more and more time to care about our body, prepare healthy food without artificial substances and we fight for organic cotton by carefully inspecting cloth tags.

In short, our live slowly turns more and more ecological. However, when it comes to cleaning, we usually forget that there are also more ecological ways to clean things, windows included. There are alternative methods, without the need for irritating chemicals. Today, we would like to show you a simple way to not only effectively clean our windows, but to do so in a natural way.

We need:

  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 glass of apple vinegar
  • 2 lemons

Juice the lemons into the water and add a glass of apple vinegar that has much less irritating smell than the ordinary vinegar. Then pour the mix into a spray bottle. You can use an old window cleaning fluid bottle - the more time we reuse it, the better for the environment! Shake the preparation a few times and spray it on the window glasses, wait a while then wipe it dry. For wiping, we recommend an old cotton shirt that was supposed to end in the trash, a reusable microfiber cloth or  biodegradable paper towels. Such a simple cleaning is enough to make the windows clean and more shiny. However, if you really want to make them pristine and spotless, we recommend using an old plastic net curtain, cloth diaper or a spare nylon pantyhose.

In case of PVC windows, we recommend starting the cleaning from the frames - they should be cleaned with a sponge and warm water only, as the vinegar may have negative impact on the veneer.

Fingers crossed and good luck!
